Travel tips
Your travel document folder: what to carry on the day
5 September 2026. 3 minute read.
Airline staff and border officers can ask for more than your passport. Here is a simple folder that covers most trips.
A well-organised folder makes check-in and border control calmer, especially on a first trip.
In your hand luggage
- Your passport, valid for the whole trip (some countries require six months’ validity).
- Your visa, eVisa share code or travel authorisation details.
- Your e-ticket and booking reference from the provider.
- Accommodation confirmation and your host’s address and phone number.
For students
- Your CAS or acceptance letter and university contact details.
- Proof of funds and tuition receipts.
- Your TB certificate if it was required for your visa.
Copies
Keep a photo of each document on your phone and a paper copy in your checked bag. Share your itinerary with someone at home.
AJOVIA customers can store copies of their documents securely in the portal.
